Texas Divorce Infidelity
"I can stay with the house?
I understand that Texas is a community property (all that means is shared equally in a divorce settlement except for items brought before the wedding (not pressed)). Recently I discovered that my wife has an affair. I'm trying to reconcile, but I do not doing well. My wife always has a little more money than me, but it does not and has not helped to pay the mortgage, taxes or major upgrades. I also paid most of the furniture, but I'm willing to let most of them. She did not contribute to the down payment (in fact, was borrowed from my father). Does the fact that there has been infidelity on his part of work in my favor at the table for divorce? Should be able to keep the house in my name?
Hello I really, really, really need bec consulting and attourney. laws are so different from state to state. Make sure you have proof that you made the payment yourself, although it might not matter if the house was placed in your name and your name. If you get a good Atty., Su Atty his infidelity can work in your favor.
