Infidelity Statistics In America
Why India has a low divorce rate?
Divorce in India is very low compared with the United States. In the United States around Half of all marriages end in divorce, but India is a mere percent. Is so low that many have the idea that it is illegal. This is not the case, but there are many reasons that could contribute to these figures contrast.
One important factor might be that divorce is not considered acceptable by the society in India. It is considered a stain on his character which means that it is something that many people do not even consider not matter what situation you are in. Some suggest that family values are more important for Indian Americans. People tend to live in larger households, and when you marry someone who is in many ways to marry the whole family. Therefore, has more of an impact on the wider family if people divorce which means they tend to feel more shame.
It has been suggested that the arranged marriage could be positive because it means that couples are more likely to stay together. Arranged marriage is still quite common in India, but rarely works the way many in western thinking, with a man and a woman forced to marry each other. Instead, usually works for a couple that came when their Parents think they can build a successful relationship. It's more of a compromise between parents and their children to try to find someone compatible. Therefore, a more scientific rather than get to the pure love. But is it a better way of doing things? Many disagree, but I would say that people who are for each other come together therefore making rupture less likely. Arranged marriage may mean a match up of the characters, instead of two people who are completely different from falling in love and finally realize that they are not right for each other.
Infidelity is seen more as a sin in India than in the U.S.. As the statistics tell us, is much rarer. Infidelity is a major cause of the breakdown of marriages in the United States. Strong religious views tend to be in the middle of this, as is the general reluctance to divorce.
The ease with which a divorce can be obtained as has been blamed for much of the increase in marriage breakdowns United States. It's easier than ever now, especially with the no-fault divorce law, which means that couples can seek a divorce just because they simply do not want to marry again. <a href="http://www.steelandshamash.co.uk/"> Family Law </ a> is much more complex in India, with a long and difficult legal process moving.
It has been argued that the facts are distorted, as many Indian couples have been reported to not live together despite being technically married. This would mean that the facts are on the right (still married), but do not give a clear picture. This also helps the idea that divorce is not considered socially acceptable.
The position of women in society may also be a contributing factor. Women in India are considered less independent. They have an important role in society (like the United States in the past) and accept this. Is this somehow makes it easier for all men and women have a specific role to play. In American women are more independent and want more of a choice in how they live their lives. This may take a couple to have conflicting ideas about how they want to live their lives.
